Brief Course Overview:

Based on the curriculum of the Deutscher Verband Medizinischer Dokumentare (DVMD) e.V., (The German Association for Medical Documentalists), we train in the following major subjects:

• Medicine (Medical Terminology, Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Clinical Studies)
• Documentation (Medical Documentation, Medical Librarianship, Information Retrieval, Diagnosis Related Groups (DRG), Descriptive Statistics, SAS)
• Data processing (Microsoft Office Pro, Microsoft Project, Databases, Internet, Medical Information Technology)
• Business organisation and occupational studies (Subject-specific English, Medical English, Business Studies, Project Management, Public Relations, Occupational Studies, Law etc.)

Internships – your entry into the working world

Our certificate also includes two three-monthly internships both nationally and abroad, both of which are organised and supervised by us.

Examination

The certificate finishes with a thesis and a colloquium in which a thesis is presented plus four final exams in the major subjects. An oral exam is optional.

End: September 30th, 2013
Classes: Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 to 14:00

Fees (and possibilities of aid)

Depending on your personal status, there are a number of ways in which your fees can be financed e.g. by means of a federal state grant (BAföG, an education loan, via rehabilitation measures, through the Federal Office for Employment or even the Services for Career Promotions of the German Federal Army.
